«Worldschooling» means learning from and within the world. It values real life, the different experiences that are challenging our views, broaden our perspective and enrich us as people. It is an education that values experience above all.
What is meant by the concept of unschooling? Is educating possible without schools? Is school a place for substantial learning? Can normal growth and development of humans, happen out of the context that needs given curricula and evaluation?
Speakers: Lainie Liberti , Miro Siegel

Autumnomous Worldschool Camp
17-24 September 2016
We had the best of starts to 2017 and despite the fact that the halcyon days we anticipated did not come our way, we managed to have an amazing time with our visiting worldschoolers, during the second worldschoolers winter summit in Greece. Rain and unusually persistent cold did not stop us from spending quality time on activities we totally enjoyed. Table games (incl table tennis) , cards and puzzles were the main attractions for the young ones and the older ones... But it was the olive harvest day that attracted everyone’s attention. Olive picking with all the available methods, from traditional to modern, plus the visit to the olive press were the most favourable and exciting activities. Some lucky people even brought fresh extra virgin olive oil back to their homes! Meanwhile, the highlight was once again the Monemvasia old town tour, exploring the medieval castle and strolling through the cobblestone paths. We had the chance to visit the upper town which has opened to the public (unlike last year’s tour) and admire the restored byzantine houses and churches.
During the week of the summit, we had the pleasure to greet Lainie Liberti with her son Miro. Lainie is the initiator of Project World School and thanks to her original idea to worldschool her son, we got useful insights and tips about our gatherings and the sense of community that we enjoy building, with like minded visitors to our place. We even got involved in organising the first public talk on the subject of worldchooling in Greece, where the guest speakers were Lainie and Miro.
When we announced this event last April we could not imagine how well it could turn out. All participants had a blast and enjoyed their stay and our activities. Even though some of us were located at the beach camp and the rest in rented apartments in Plitra, we managed to coordinate our moves and visit the old frankish town of Monemvasia while hiking up the rock to explore the upper town with the byzantine church and houses. One of the highlights of the week was the fun we had in splashing competition during our visit in the port of Gerakas with its lagoon having the role of a extra large swimming pool that the children (and some of the parents) appreciated very much...
Our gathering ended with an excursion to the island of Elafonisos and swimming in the crystal clear blue-green waters of the famous Simos beach. It was certainly a week to remember thanks to sharing the high spirit of all the adults and kids that took part.

Worldschoolers winter summit a successful start!
18-22 January 2016
FIVE days full of activities during winter with kids in one of the best locations in Europe. This was the challenge for a unique opportunity to meet and get to know other like minded parents from all over the world and have the chance to explore the hidden treasures of this magnificent place. A memorable week as it proved, which we spent visiting interesting locations (some of them off the beaten track) like the old frankish castle town of Monemvasia (the Greek Gibraltar), while harvesting olives and learning the way olive oil is produced. Biking (the bicycle lending club is located next to our hub) and hiking were also part of our options to discover the unspoilt scenery of southeastern Lakonia in the Peloponnese.
Accommodation for five nights was served by a local hotel with flats. Each day, dinner was cooked mainly from locally sourced products (vegan and vegeterian) and served in our hub. Pick up (and return journey) from Athens international airport was included, as well as the daily excursions.
We were fortunate to have in our company people for exchanging ideas and practises about worldschooling and homeschooling while we offered our kids the chance to make new friends and learn through the eploration of other cultures and attitudes. It was fun!
Following on our successful first worldschoolers winter summit in Greece, we welcomed more families in this spring time edventure.
A a week full of activities in one of the "best kept secret" locations in Europe. This was a memorable week, which we spent visiting interesting locations (some of them off the beaten track) like the old Frankish castle town of Monemvasia (the Gibraltar of the Aegean sea) , the magnificent caves of Diros , while learning how to cycle better(Podilatoparea, the bicycle lending club is located next to our hub), given plenty of options to discover the unspoilt scenery of southeastern Lakonia in the Peloponnese. Activities included getting to know the traditional local vegeterian cuisine and permaculture gardening
